Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By installing or using the Steward iOS app (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Who we are

Steward Technologies, Inc. ("Steward," "we," "us") provides the App, which helps you choose which of your credit cards to use based on context (nearby merchants, your spending preferences, your loyalty memberships, and the rewards each card offers).

3. The service

The App provides informational recommendations to help you decide which of your credit cards to use in a given context. It surfaces publicly-available information about credit card rewards, benefits, and offers.

The App does NOT:

  • Connect to your credit card accounts
  • See your transactions, statements, balances, or credit score
  • Apply for, change, or close any credit card on your behalf
  • Automatically activate issuer offers

The specific features available in the App may change over time as we add, remove, or modify functionality.

Steward provides informational suggestions only. We are not a financial advisor, accountant, broker, or credit counselor. Nothing in the App constitutes individualized financial, tax, legal, or investment advice.

You are responsible for your own financial decisions. Consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.

5. Accuracy of information

We compile credit card rewards, offers, category information, and loyalty program data from public sources, issuer disclosures, and publicly-advertised promotions. This information:

  • May be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete
  • May change at any time without notice from the issuer
  • Is not guaranteed to apply to your specific card, account, or situation

Before making a purchase decision based on a Steward recommendation, verify the terms directly with your card issuer. You are solely responsible for confirming eligibility, offer validity, and any restrictions.

6. Your account and data

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction (typically 18 in the United States), you may only use the App with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
  • You may sign in using Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to your Apple ID secure.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter (cards held, loyalty memberships, trip details, survey answers).
  • We handle your data per our Privacy Policy.

7. Advertiser and affiliate relationships

Steward may earn compensation when users are approved for or open certain credit cards, whether directly through issuer affiliate programs or through third-party affiliate networks. Compensation does not determine our recommendations. For details, see our Advertiser & Affiliate Disclosure.

8. Not affiliated with card issuers or merchants

Steward is independent. We are NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any card issuer, bank, or merchant referenced in the App unless explicitly stated. Trademarks, logos, and brand names belong to their respective owners.

9. Prohibited uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any illegal purpose
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the App or our services
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App, our servers, or our infrastructure
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code (except as permitted by law)
  • Submit false or misleading community reports
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the App or its data

10. Third-party services

The App uses Apple services (including Sign in with Apple and Core Location), mapping and places services, and other third-party services. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

11. No warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Data shown is accurate, current, or complete
  • Any specific reward, offer, or benefit will actually be earned or applied by your issuer
  • Defects will be corrected

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STEWARD AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. (The App is currently free.)

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Steward harmless from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Beta and pre-release versions

During any beta or pre-release access, the App may be incomplete, unstable, or change without notice. Features may be added or removed. You understand that beta access is provided on an experimental basis.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. The "Effective date" above reflects the latest version.

16. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Arbitration disclaimer: For the initial beta, we are not requiring arbitration. This may change in a future version of the Terms. Any change will be announced with at least 30 days' notice.
